The 'Fera travelled up to Cardiff in the long awaited first League fixture in this seasons Championship. Conditions were good but unfortunately our start was not. 3 - 27 down in the first period did not auger well with only a Gareth James penalty in the 20th minute to show for our efforts. The second half however was a much improved display. Ystalyfera came back with a quick three Tries in quarter of an hour, from centre Tomos Powell, substitute Paul Davies and the ever determined Daniel Williams. With a score of 34 - 22 to the home side and 'Fera all to play for, the Met. looked at sixes and sevens. The referee at this point certainly confused all the players and both sets of supporters with some of his decisions, the fast and entertaining rugby from both sides being curtailed. Cardiff Met. finished winners 43 - 22, with Ystalyfera having put in an astounding come back which failed to stem the home sides authority from the first half. Glamorgan Wanderers home next with hope of a better result.
